I've got a load of music on a USB stick and have it plugged into the AMI with the correct cable. Songs are all in folders. It all seems to work OK but browsing becomes uber slow, songs take up to 30 seconds to start. I played a CD the other day and it was amazing! Fast and as it should be. Any ideas why the AMI is such a disaster with the memory stick?

what memory stick are you using? (brand and specific model)

It could be a poor quality pendrive with a low read speed causing the issue?

If there are over 1000 files AND folders, it will likely have problems

I don't think USB 3.0 has reached Audi yet, but there are much faster USB 2.0 drives out there.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

I have tried changing the pen drive, to no avail. I went to Maplins and bought a super fast (wasn't cheap) one. It's still just as bad. Someone mentioned taking the car to Audi to get the AMI updated. Any other thoughts?

Just to add, I use my ipod with about 21,000 songs on. It's extremely slow as well, takes up to 15 seconds to load an artist, regularly hangs and just goes back to the now playing song. Once an album is playing it navigates the songs instantly. Just the menu's are extremely slow and clunky. I tried a mates ipod with about 1,000 songs on and everything was instant, guess it just struggles with so much information. Annoying all the same though.

In my b7 I just had the dension kit that showed no track information and all you could do was skip tracks back and forward, changing the artist would have meant pulling over, so from that aspect it is a lot better and I can't complain too much
