    Hi Guys

Back again this time for my MMI unit ....!

Problem - keeps cutting out and re starting seconds later ( whole system screen the lot )

Been like this since I bought it, stops for a few months then has a 2 week spell of cutting out,
been back to audi when I first purchased the car who performed a system update, never solved the problem.
I finally had time to book it back in this week for them to say my boot lid seals are leaking now and this is
causing the problem now, and that when I first took it in that the system update fixed it, but now the water ingress is causing the fault.

    OMG.......***!!!!!!!!!!

They now say that the warranty does not cover water damage to seals which can cause other problems .....I it will cost me 1200 for the repair......LOL....

    Any advice guys.?

    Thanks in advance...

    Anth

Sounds like a module on the fibre loop has died. You need diagnosis done to see which module has failed.

Yes the diagnosis has been done and the problem has been found....

The thing is they will not do the repair under warranty and have quoted me £ 1200 for the
repair even tho the problem has never been fixed since I purchased the car....

What was the result of the diagnostics? When and where did you buy the car? What year is it and how many miles has it done? Full Audi service history?

S5, 2008, 37,000miles bought from the main dealer with full audi history...

Problem has been traced to some water ingress from the boot lid seals and it has got into the amp which is in the boot and needs a new
    module. .....
