So recently I am hearing a "popping" sound when I slowly turning. Can be slowly driving, reversing, or just when its stopped.
The sound is hard to hear, but you can feel it too. Just a slight pop. So I am thinking to take my car for a check up to a dealer.
Tried searching this forum for popping sounds, but found nothing.
Have any of you had some similar experiences? I am thinking it can be CV joint. Or can anything else make this kind a noise?
Also I am pretty sure it started after I hit the curb. It was like 10 km/h, but it felt very hard. I have 19" so there is not much a buffer to dampen the hit. I was happy I didn't cut the tyre. Though now I have a dent on my damn expensive alloys :s
Also from time to time I do get some rattling noise from the panel or vent on the same side that i managed to hit.
Is it difficult to change CV join on B8's? Or its more less similar to older generatiosn? (Starting to count labor hours )
Would appreciate any help and advices.

Jack-up the suspect wheel and check for free-play on bearing and also the driveshaft. Its the only way your giong to rule out any possible damage.

Driveshaft/CV joints would be my first thought on what's not right.

I managed to kerb a single alloy recently and it bugs me that it's now different to the other 3 which are still pristine, lol!

Yes, that what sad about it - I am more sad that I damaged alloy than the thought of paying for changing CV joint
How serious is it that popping sound. Busy week next week. Is there a chance of bigger damage if I wait for another week?

So I took my car to the garage (official audi dealer). Took it for a test ride with mechanic. explained whats wrong, he agreed that there is a strange sound. I suggested that it might me cv joint.
In few hours they called and said that there is a small problem with steering. I am not very bright in car so, cant remember exactly what that was and it was in Norwegian, that made it even more difficult
Good news that the problem that they found seem to be one that is free to fix. Like audis fault or something. Or I hope so.
From a short dumbed down for me conversation I understood that there is a problem with steering, it might be that it needs just some special lubricant, they will try it next week and if not they will change that part.
Does it sound similar to any of you?
When I was looking to buy this car I found a "recalls" database, where you can check official problems that audi fixes for you, tried again but no luck. Can someone be so kind and give me that link?
Once again, thanks for help and advices

    OK found that database myself
and it looks like this is the problem they were talking about
Service Bulletin 287527 for Audi STEERING | AutoMD
From the description it does sound like my problem. So this means they will fix it for free?
