    Hi all,

Just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced their car feeling slower, it sort of lacks the oomph it had before where you can feel it.

Its throttle response seems a little slower unless it goes into S mode or manual, I have been told it has adapted to my slow driving lol but I have kicked it about the past week or two now and not much has happened. I have been told that I have just got used too it as well.

It is due for a service at the end of this month and it has 70K on the clock.

I need to add that the car was remapped about two years ago, I have spoken to the company and they have said that their remap would not result going back to the original unless it went to an Audi dealer which it hasn't. However I recently upgraded to MMI 5570 but I am sure that has nothing to do with it, could it?

The only thing that I haven't done is plug it into VCDS, I haven't done this as I have had no warnings come up on the dash so assumed nothing is wrong, I will be doing this today after work.

    Any ideas? thanks

Mmi update won't wipe the remap lol so no worries there.

Could be fuel filter so best get it changed at the service, make sure when scanning you erase all faults, ignition off and on and rescan.

Could you tell us which engine it is??

    Hi A6_Chris,

I wanted to check all possibilities lol, I will definitely list what faults I find too.

Of course, its a 3.0 TDI 233 before remap.

Check the brakes, one if them might be sticking ever so slightly.

Is it a case of jacking up each side, releasing it from hand brake (for back) spin it to check for each side, also would I leave it in P.

You will need it in `N`. `P` will lock the transmission.

Plus put some block either side of the wheels still on the ground as you don't want it to roll off the jack, seeing as you'll need it in nuetral and no parking brake on to check this....

Have you tried it in sport mode? There is also a slim chance that a warning light is faulty!

As well as fuel filter check the status of your air filter. I change mine every 5k miles with an aftermarket one and always notice an improvement to responsiveness after the change even on that short mileage. And at this price it's silly not to:

Like you I've had mine remapped and drive quite..erm...sedately (regularly achieving in excess of 45MPG).

Also have you changed your fuel type recently? I only use supermarket cheapy stuff (next big fill will be at 1.12ppl courtesy of a supermarket voucher) but I ALWAYS give it a double shot of Miller Diesel Power Ecomax:

Millers Diesel Power Ecomax Fuel cleaner Additive treatment 500ml | eBay

It does make a difference and to both performance and economy and works out considerably cheaper than using a superfuel which would be a minimum of 35ppl more as the treatment in double dose is good for 5 x tankfuls.

Also some (inc myself) have had their top end fuel system cleaned using Terraclean (search the forum) and I noticed a definate improvement in both power and ecomomy afterwards.
