S3 - GFB DV+ issue

Hi all
after much reading up on the GFB DV + I decided to get one installed to replace the original diverted valve.
the main reason is because the car has had a stage 1 remap pushing more boost. It sounded like a good mod to have.

since the fitting of the New DV+ I have noticed the lights on the dash for the RPD123456 etc are flashing white. The car is the s-tronic.
car seems to drive ok but obviously can't see which gear I'm in?!
the German car specialist who fitted the part has run the standard vag diagnostics and cleared the fault showing none but the gear indication lights are back flashing again?!

any ideas or help please!?
