wheels and tyres

Hi, just got myself a nice 2009 a4 b8 2.0 tdi 6sp in dark metallic grey. would like to put 18" gun metal grey rotar alloys on to match, seen them on ebay, look cool. my current wheel size on my 2.0 tdi se is 245/45/17 (winter tyres). the wheel package I saw on ebay is 18" rotor alloys with 225/45/18 tyres. Would narrower tyres be alright or do I have to keep the 245 wide tyres. any advice appreciated. cheers billy.

The 18's will be only 8mm bigger rolling diameter so shouldn't affect your speedo.
The 20mm in width will be hardly noticeable either as long as the wheel with is the same.
Don't know your original wheel width, but if you are going from a narrow OEM wheel like 6.5J (width in inches) to a 9J those 225 wide tires will look like the 'stretch' young lads have on mk4 modified golfs

Double check with your insurance co as you're not using a OE size for tyres.
