dab radio

hi have just bought a6 2 litre tdi sline was wondering about fitting dab radio to it ,i understand it comes with the dab radio module but wt else would i need and how much it s goin to cost ?

I thought dab was standard? Or only from a certain point?

If you need a new radio module like 3G then you're in for a big expense.

Do you have RMC or HDD fitted?

if it was built after week 22 2013 it will have dab.

On cars with RMC Navigation (SD Card version) the DAB unit is built into the navigation unit so to add Factory fit DAB requires replacement of that unit at significant cost. Fistune http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/fis...n-audi-mmi-rmc) do a module you can add at a much more sensible cost but it becomes an additional Media option rather than being part of the Radio and does not have auto switching from DAB to FM. For cars with the HDD navigation it is easier as the factor fit DAB unit is separate to the navigation one

you lost me here , the car is advertised as coming with a dab module , surely in order to fit a dab unit to it ?

Press RADIO, then Waveband and see if it actually has it.

Was it advertised with DAB? Do you have the original sales advert if it was?

If you say the car is advertised as having DAB module and from your other post it looks like it does not have the factory fitted one try pressing the Media button and see if DAB appears as a Media Source, go up the menus until you get to the one that shows the 2 SD Cards, CD Drive and any other media sources you have (e.g. AMI). If there is not DAB source there then it seems unlikely you have an aftermarket one either. Only option then is to ask the seller where it is.
