    Hi all,

Maybe a stupid question, but I'd thought I'd put it out there - I have a Memoscan VAG5053 that I bought some time ago as a fault code reader for my Passat. It seems to have some rudimentary support for applying adaptions - does anyone have any experience of using one of these devices to apply A6 VCDS tweaks (I'm guessing the primary difference vs VCDS is usability, and perhaps the need to be able to do binary->hexdecimal conversions yourself - very carefully of course!)

If not, I'll give it a try myself and report back on feasibility/difficulty factor sometime in the next week.

    Thanks,
    Alan

Most of the changes in the tweaks thread are coding changes rather than adaptation changes. Is the tool you have capable of this?

A lot of the car's modules have a "Long Coding Helper" option in VCDS which makes amending the coding very simple indeed. If you look at the underlying coding string (in Hex) it's a little more scary, though. I would approach making manual changes to that with huge care and trepidation! If you do want to experiment and you need to see how a hex coding string breaks down in Long Coding Helper, ask away

    Good luck!!
