My A6 appears to have the washers for the headlights but where is the control to use them?! Can't find it anywhere and I don't have a manual with the car!! Cheers!

    Do you have Xenon headlights?

If you don't your car probably won't have them unless the "Winter Pack" was specified as an option when the car was new.

I don't know if A6's without the headlight washers just have a blanker or if there should be no hole at all - anybody?

Looking under the bonnet it appears to have all the appropriate bits there, just no switch. No idea on the xenon bit.

My 2002 Audi A6 Avant doesn't have them and doesn't have the blanking plates - just a standard bumper.

Check the fuses as if nothing is happening at all then this could be the most likely (and cheapest) cause!

The fuses are on either the driver or passenger side of the console - open the door and you'll see you can remove the appropriate side of the console.

    Cheers

    Rob

There is no switch for them they work when the lights are on and you wash wipe the winscreen for a few seconds. They pop up and squirt water on the lights. The pump under the lights gives up and are expensive to replace so are often blanked off.

I have seen manuals on e-bay.
