I all I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this: 2010 audi a3 tdi
But I'm after some of the plastic stone protectors that are fitted under the car on the rear trailing arms?
Not wanting to pay audi's £45 each.
Anyone have any spares or know anywhere where these car be purchased?
    Cheers

Whats wrong with yours? Try eBay for breaking A3s maybe?

Drivers side one had a crack in it and was rattling. So I pulled half of it off and now doesn't rattle.
I'll get one from audi next week as car is in fir service.

The rattle is a common problem unfortunately and I agree that the Audi price is ridiculous for some plastic parts which are known to be troublesome. Ensure that you are getting the revised stone guard though, part numbers 1K0 511 534 D (right) & 1K0 511 533 D (left) as these should cure any future problems with them. They are fitted like this:

Hi mate, thanks for that. I'll get a price again but do we really need them? Do they offer protection or is it an extra for aerodynamics?

I would like to know the answer to that question myself. My garage could only think that they provided protection from stones getting up and lying in the rear trailing arm, causing a rattle in itself (how ironic!), but beyond that I am unsure. If you search that part number on Google, you'll find that they are also on the VW Touran. Prior to the 2008 update of the A3, these stone guards did not exist. So something obviously came to light for Audi to fit them.

Just a quick one: has anyone else removed these off their car as they were rattling and if they offer any additional protection that they need to be fitted?
    Aufi want £91 a side.
