Bluetooth connection

Hi all, this is my first post since joining the forum last week. I have just bought a 2008 A6 estate with 2g MMi system. My smart phone (htc 0neX) connects perfectly to the car but i cannot access my contacts through the cars system.

Any thoughts?

Welcome to VWAF

Press TEL then top right corner button then into Phone Book or the MODE button on your steering wheel then into Phone Book.

I think (and most people do) you're pressing NAME on the MMI control panel yea, this lures people into thinking press this to access names but actually not

Yes Chris i think so, my car is away to have some paint done as i only noticed some slight damage after i collected it. I will try again tomorrow when i collect it. Thanks for your help!

Still not able to access contacts through car. I looked on web and apparently my phone type fails to provide the format the car requires. it looks as if i need to root my phone and install an app.

MMI will work with rsap and hfp, try a different phone if possible.
