Recently I had the vacuum hose from the rear of the rocker cover replaced, straight away the high reving stopped but still lacked acceleration, so I fitted a new MAF sensor, fuel filter, air filter and put a can of 44k cleaner in the tank and the car ran considerably better. Sadly the car is starting to rev around 1200-1500 revs in traffic when warm.

I was planning in changing the plugs and coils but I've read a lot of threads where these parts have been replaced and no difference was made. Have I got another vacuum leak?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I love the car but slowly wishing I'd played safe and bought a Ford....bad times!

I have found 3 leaks, hoses 2 & 3 on the inlet manifold (I've tightened the hose clips) and the front rocker breather hose, when I took it off it split in 3 places. A replacement part is £40 from Audi and the inlet manifold will need to come off, so I'm hoping my warranty will cover it.
For the moment the breather hose is patched up with garden hose and electrical tape, not sure how long it'll last.

Can anyone help? I tried to remove the intake manifold at the weekend, I was almost there but stopped when I got to removing the throttle body, it seems easy enough to move but there is a unit underneath it with various hoses coming off it of which one appears to be a metal hose going into the bulk head, I'm not sure how to remove it or indeed whether I need to.

Apologies for the poor description but if anyone can help, whether it be advice or a diagram I'd be grateful.

If think that device is called thermostat and all of the hoses should just pull of, but you might have to drain your coolant first, but the only thing is I'm not sure if you need to remove thermostat for intake manifold removal

I've just spoke to Audi and they need the part number but I threw the hose away as it was knackered, I now have some cheap plastic hose in its place, held in place with electrical tape.
Audi were able to send me a diagram of the intake system and I've found out that the parts on the back of the intake manifold are the throttle valve and exhaust recirculation valve, hopefully if I can remove these I'll be able to get the intake manifold off.
