Bought my 2013 Q7 4.2tdi s line about a week ago, love it, I cant work out how to retract the mirrors, I have read the book and found the switch and held it pushed it etc but they dont move, would be great if they folded on locking too. Also the front parking sensors only seem to be active after I have had the car in reverse, or when I push the button on the dash, should they not be active all the time?
Am I right in reading somewhere that there is a hidden menu somewhere to program such things?
    Oh, and hello from Barnsley.

If you have folding mirrors specced then there will be a position at 6 o'clock on your mirror adjustment knob.

Not sure if they told on lock on the Q7 but check in the CAR menu then Central Locking.

Front sensors are working correct, no issues there.

Thanks for the responce, there is the little mirror with the arrow at six o clock but holding the knob/button there does nothing.
Should the front sensors just sense when the car is near stuff? I have owned other vehicles with park sensors etc and they always did.
    Thanks

Are you doing it with the ignition on and in Park/handbrake on?

No, they'll only activate if you put the car in reverse or press the button manually below a certain speed <10mph or so.

Firstly you need to rotate the knob to the 6 o'clock position not just hold it there.
Unfortunately mirror fold on lock/unlock has not been cracked on the Q7, apparently italian Q7's do have the option but no one has ever sorted it on any other Q7's from what i have found.

How are you enjoying the V8 tdi, what made you choose that over the V6?

Think I have tried all combinations, handbrake on in park, engine on and off, ignition on and off.
I am really surprised about the parking sensors, I cannot understand the thinking behind them working in such a manor.

Turned the knob until it felt like it was goin to snap off then, it sprang to six o clock and mirrors folded

I drove the V6 and thought it was ok but, quite simply nothing beats a V8, the noise, the torque, the way it does 100 mph at 2000 rpm

Wait till you get a decent engine and gearbox remap for around 400bhp then it will make it fantastic.
I'm a little disappointed with the noise as i feel a better exhaust note is needed.
