    Hello All,

The on-board computer single journey memory re-sets itself after the ignition has been turned off for more than two hours.

I would like to keep the total journey memory data as an ongoing overall record since the car was new and if possible use the single journey memory for journeys over several days such as holidays, but as it is the computer would reset itself after two hours i.e. overnight, and not allow me to track say seven consecutive days of sorties. Does anyone know if it is possible override the single journey memory to stop it re-setting itself after two hours so that I can re-set it manually when I want to?

    Thanks,

    Janner

    Mine has 2.
    long trip and
    short trip

The short one resets every couple of hours yes. But the long one shows my average speed, mpg, etc.. since the day I got the car as I haven't reset it.

I think you use the left or right arrows on the steering wheel then the roller to get the correct bit.

pumpsmynads I understand that but what I am asking is if it is possible to override the short trip to stop it re-setting after two hours. I would like to re-set the short trip when I want to and not have it re-set automatically after two hours.

With my Jag it had Trip A and Trip B. You could use Trip A for overall trip data and Trip B for short trip data and re-set Trip B manually when you wanted to.

    OK

I have been told today that the long journey memory re-sets at 10K miles anyway so it looks like I might as well use the long journey memory for holidays etc. and just keep a spreadsheet record of the data before re-setting each time.

or use Road Trip (£2.99) / Road Trip Lite (Free) from AppStore, not sure if it's available for Android phones. Really good app, has many options to choose from.
