I really hope someone can help me out here, I have just bought a W plate lupo 1.4 sport. The guy I bought it off told me that he had been having problems with it hunting and I don't mean chasing foxes. He said he has replaced the coil pack, cam sensor crank sensor all to no avail. Anyway on to the main problem, it drives great up until the revs reach 4200 and then refuses to go any further, feels like it's running out of fuel. I hope someone can point me in the right direction as apart from this it's a great little car. Many thanks,

    Welcome.

Have you had the car on a diagnostic yet?

A bit more info just in case it helps, I have noticed that when the car is cold it sounds like it is knocking and the throttle pedal feels like it is bouncing under your foot

There may be a critical issue with the vehicle - I'd advise getting it on a diagnostic computer and pasting the readout here

I thought I would post an update as the car is well again now, the mechanic put it on the computer and the crank sensor was knakered.
he changed it and now she is great, goes well as it's the 100 bhp model.
thanks for any help and advice given.
