I went into the dealer to arrange a test drive and could have gone then but wanted a longer term test. Took a 245 and then a biturbo for the weekend. No problem and all booked within 10 minutes.

Wow. Which dealer? Any names of the staff worth asking for?

Yes. Aberdeen Audi and I usually deal with Fraser Edwards as I have known him a long time. Bought my first Audi from him about 14 years ago!! To be honest they are all very nice at the dealership. I also had some dealings with a guy called Paul Old at JCT 600 York Audi and he seemed very good as well. Obviously not a test drive though. Good luck with the test drive. We have had long term test from Aberdeen Audi the last couple of years. My wife got an A4 and before we bought it she was given the A4 avant for a long weekend which was good as we could see what the suspension and wheels were like etc. With the amount you are spending I think it is essential as little things can really wind you up. I ordered the powered tailgate on my wife's car which she thought was a waste of £115 but after about 2 months she couldn't do without it.

Thats brilliant, thanks for that Scott. it is always useful to hear good stories like this and about good dealers. (Although a bit far for me but still i am sure this info would be superb for other buyers).

I picked up my new A6 on Saturday and have to say that my experience with Salisbury Audi was great. Dealt with Ben who always returned my calls, even if there was no update, and was very helpful. Also got introduced to all the service guys and the manager when we picked the car up.

The only real frustration I had was when the car was at the dock in Germany. It seemed that the dealers and main sales office have very limited detail of when exactly a car is due to be shipped. I had a couple of emails with 'fingers crossed it will be on the ship tomorrow' which I thought was pretty poor - surely Audi should know which cars are on which ship prior to the day of sailing!

Having said that I was also looking at a 5 series and the sales guy at our local BMW dealer was great too. Think I made the right choice though

Bought mine from Basingstoke, top marks there, but also have heard very good things about Salisbury as well, friend of mine just got her Q3 there as they gave a better deal than Basingstoke.

It's another thumbs up for Basingstoke for me, bought 2 cars from there now and my daughter recently got an A1, always very helpful.

Sean Thomson @ Aberdeen Audi is very good and helpful, happily letting us test drive various cars over the years. Hell, even threw me the keys to a new S5 for a couple of hundred miles when our TT was in for a warranty claim

John Norrie @ Dundee Audi is top notch and is now a good friend, as well as being very easy to deal with.

Dundee and Aberdeen are the same group aren't they? Must say, all the guys at Aberdeen are good- friendly, professional and seem to be well trained and enthusiastic.
