Sharan 2008 - Clutch problem

I have a Sharan 2008 model with a strange problem with the clutch.

Some times when I shift gear under acceleration, the clutch appears as an on/off switch. I try to release the clutch smooth out but the car acts as a rabbit jumping forward. I can prevent this by let the engine fall down almost too idle rpm and then release the clutch extremely soft/carefully. When doing this in uphill I lose almost all speed……

Two times I also had the problem that when I pressed the clutch pedal down the clutch didn’t release (disconnected the gear box) so the car still running (one time in reverse and one time driving forward). I had to press the breaks to stop the car and result was of cause that the engine topped also. By this I can’t remember if I just started the engine again or released the clutch pedal and then pressed it down before starting the engine. I was a bit stressed……. of it.

Is it in the clutch, or can is it the clutch mechanism?

My big problem this is not continues but appears sometimes. Therefore I haven’t been able to demonstrate it for the mechanical staff at the VW service center.

The workshop found that there was a slat from the clutch plate had broken off and was between it and the flywheel.
