    Morning all,

I'm hoping someone may be able to shed some light on my issue?
I have a kenwood dnx521 as fitted by the Vw dealer as an upgrade (personally prefer factory but hey) I purchased a rear view camera and installed last weekend.
All was good and when in reverse image shows fine, until the car is running! Then all hell breaks lose, the screen flickers and cannot see the image!

Now I've tried a ground loop isolator and it doesn't even allow the camera to work.
I've purchased a shielded cable but not sure I can be bothered to install if the result will be the same.
Any tech gurus got any advise?
It's on a VW Tiguan by the way.

What power source are you running the camera from? It needs a steady 12v feed. Tap onto the 12v feed for the radio, should sort out the problem

The power source was the reverse light wire so it only powers up when in reverse.
Funny enough if just got in from running a shielded RCA which made no difference so I then tried taking the feed from the numberplate light. That made no difference.
Just don't understand why when the cars not running it's fine.

Does it have the bulb warning system? If so then this will most probably be causing your issues

You will need a relay from the reverse switch on the gearbox and then power off a direct live

The system that checks for blown bulbs sends all sorts or weirdness down the line - I found this out when trying to test for voltage on the reverse lights with the bulb removed - it gave the weirdest of readings
