    Looking at something like this:-
    Coilover AUDI A6 4F C6 2004-2011 + Quattro ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION LOWERING KIT | eBay

    But want some info first.
    1. Will I have to remove the whole front suspension or is there a way to just remove the shock holding the spring ?

    2. Looking at the rear set-up, do I do away with the existing coil spring & shock then put the new coilover where the old shock was ?

    3. Is the shock mounting point strong enough to take the weight of the car when loaded ?

How do you find the ride in your current setup?

I've been in a car with coilovers and the ride is rock hard and that was hem not lowered fully.

20mm - The ride at the moment is firm but comfortable, no teeth rattling moments.

Take a spin in a car with them fitted firs for all as it could be an expensive mistake if you end up not liking the ride.

Would you consider springs? How low are you planning to go?

Remember to inform your insurance of any modifications

Just mulling it over at the moment Chris, 30 / 35mm.
May not do anything at all because I do hit the mudflaps with five people in over ramps.
Springs are an option but with springs I am stuck with one setting.

Just wanted to know how difficult it would be to DIY.

Ah I see, I clip my mudflaps everytime going over even a small-ish ramp, once they ripped off and needed a new rear set, that was with 4 people and two small suitcases in the boot.

There is a medium sized dip in the road on the A26 which clips them everytime with only me in the car.

    Passed down your way yesterday

I'm thinking it may be more trouble than it's worth just for a few mm.

On my way down to London for the week, currently in Northampton now though as I was at Audi's In The Park this afternoon

Just called in at the services for a snack and headed on, kept an eye out for your car but didn't see it.

Take a spin in someone's car first and see if you can stick the ride.

You would have to have good eye sight, it's locked in the garage .
Just spent four days cleaning it.

I don't know anyone with an A6 never mind with coilovers or lower springs.
