Hey all, I have a 2004 2.0 140 tdi bkd with an annoying problem....my clutch pedal is slow to return, giving a second or two delay...also, sometimes the clutch pedal seems soft! I looked under the clutch and noticed theres a raw plug in the pedal? No clue what its forgrrrr....I love this car so much...the coolest 19 year olds car ever made, but the clutch is driving me nuts...any ideas? Cheers all

Check the brake fluid level under the bonnet, most cars run off the same reservoir for the clutch and brakes.

There is also a possibility of the Release Bearing sticking on the Input shaft sleeve. But check Pedal area first, including the 'over-centre' spring.

Sorry for the delay! You may have this sussed by now.....but...have a look up by pedals and you will see a spring, most probably on a pushrod. That spring is the over centre spring which takes the weight off the pedal when depressed. It should be intact.
