    Morning All,

My golf is less than 2 wks away. I currently have an android phone with loads of music stored via Deezer. Whats the best way to connect to my car?.

Will I get the artwork as per displayed on my phone when playing tracks?

    Thanks in advance, Rappy.

What Nav / media options have you specified?
Probably in a pit underneath a steam loco somewhere.

There is a thread about music already running. All the answers you need are in there.

    ***BUMP***

Guys, please can someone help? I had purchased a micro SD card in readiness for getting my car next week. Unfortuntly Deezer does not save music as MP3's help!!!

Back to my original question, best way to play music in my golf? Can I connect via a lead or simply stream via bluetooth?

    Thanks in advance,

    Rappy.

Ok there is a lead you can connect a phone or ipod/iphone to. (actually it's a different lead depending on the device i.e. apple or android or mp3 but the dealer should give you the right one if you take your device with you.) I'm pretty sure you can stream via bluetooth from a compatible device but the sound is not necessarily going to be the best. Don't know why you bough micro SD as the Golf takes full sized SD but you should be OK with the right SD card adaptor. Music on SD is fine if it's wma, or mp3 or (I think) aac. Not sure about other formats. As to the "best way" I'd say SD card for sure. A 8GB card will hold hours of music at a reasonable bitrate so you can make use of the full range of the sound system.

Thanks for your reply. After much research on the net, It looks like I may need to buy a mdi lead with a head phone jack to play my music saved via Deezer. Is the MDI cable in the glove box, or below the armrest?

And as you mention the bluetooth quality may not be the best.

As for the micro SD, I purchased this with adapter, to simply leave in my android phone and connect to the car via bluetooth, or remove and use the adapter to play via the car. The issue is that Deezer does not save as MP3 files. And the folder looks encrypted.

I have a 32g card and loads of old cds. It would be nice to play my Deezer collection of around 50 albums via my car.

Mine's a MK6 but the quality of the bluetooth is fine. It's at least as good as using the Aux In, although it does come from the phone louder so I don't need to turn it up as far.
