A6 Car Alarm

My 2001 A6 Avants car alarm sounds pathetic!!! I have located where the siren is and it sounds like an amplifier is gone ?? If there is one ?? With the alarm going off, I would struggle to hear it if I was 10 feet away. Anyone got any ideas please ???

Main aint that load think maybe audi made them quite as to not upset anyone.

IMHO I don't think you have a problem volume wise, my A6 2001 alarm is a low volume beep beep beep.
I had a 9000 SAAB with a retro fitted £400 Clifford CAT1 alarm that had a 105dB monster that woke half the neighbourhood.
It had a microwave cabin sensor that used to get triggered by taxis radios, a taxi pulled up one night next to my motor at about 3am, and when he transmitted on his radio the alarm went off rearranging his ear canals and judging by the way he waddled back to his car, perhaps a follow through too! it used to get fooled into thinking it was being scanned.
It even used to get set off by my neighbours microwave oven in their kitchen next door, in the end I just disabled the cabin sensor and relied on the immobiliser.
To be honest, I don't think having an alarm is worth the hassle.
Nobody takes any notice of them anyway except to ask you to switch em off!
