    Help!

I have tried searching but can't find anything conclusive, so sorry if I double up, but I'm getting frustrated ;-)

i took delivery of new A6 yesterday, but I'm having trouble getting a data connection with my Galaxy S4.

Its connected as a phone, but will not allow data. It's connected once or twice and has activated traffic, refreshed google maps, then it drops.

I have deleted connection both in car and on the phone, but now I'm lost. I'm usually quiet good like this and don't like being beaten!

It's like it wants a sim in the dash and won't be told otherwise.

thanks in advance! Car has DVD nav.

Not sure if this will help but I was having the same problem with my Galaxy S3 after the 4.3 Android update. It would connect using rsap (car phone), start to download the phone book and then drop the rsap connection but using the handsfree profile worked.
I've now got it working again by disabling the data connection on the phone before connection. I.e. just enable Bluetooth and not mobile data.
It's now working exactly as it was before the upgrade. I know this sounds weird but it worked for me. I contacted Samsung, Orange and Audi and they all blamed each other so I got absolutely nowhere so it might be worth a try with yours.

Afternoon John, after some slightly less frustrated forum searching last night, I found the thread where you posted just this solution. Doesn't seem to make sense, but if it work, it works ;-) I've not had chance to test it yet, but I will tonight. Ive also tried the works Sony Z1 and my wifes slightly older Sony Xperia, all with no success. The dealer is also calling me at lunch to try and fix. Thanks for your help.

None of the Sony's will work as it seems to be only Samsung that supports the rSAP profile out of the box unfortunately.

If the system works when mobile data on the handset is switched off, it may be because the handset is preventing the rSAP connection as it would switch off the handset's data connection. Have noticed with the latest Firmware, even if you turn wifi off, it switches back on if it is in range of BOTH an HSPA and wifi network, so they've definitely changed some stuff on the latest drop.

Well its working I'm glad to say. The key to it was to let the car find the phone and not the other way around. Why that should make a difference I don't know, but it does. When the car finds the phone it gives you two connection options. The RSAP connection required the car to restart, but then all was good. Stable data connection and no problems calling, I'm a happy bunny now. I will get the car firm ware version later, but my S4 is on android version 4.3_0018

    Thanks for the help.
