I went to do the weekly shopping last night. We go every week an take my mum.I parked as close to the shop doors as i could.I was pleased with myself finding a spot, not to far from the doors that had two clear bays on each side of me.My nice clean pride an joy was safe from predators.
We came out some time later after spending our hard earned pennies to find someone had park right next to me.There were loads of free bays all over the place.man i was peed.
Thats not all..The driver in question couldnt even park straight.
As i got closser,it got even worse..
It was only an RS5 In my favourate colour, metalic Blue,Cream leather with all the toys.
We put the shopping in the boot, all the time glancing over at it,muttering, show off, poser, posh git,too much money etc.
As we reversed back,my mum an Mrs said,at the say time. Would you like one of them.... I calmly said narr, not rearly.
Now if i was pinochio, i would have harpooned the front windscrean.
We drove off slowly content in the fact my old baby was old,but all paid for an does twice the mpg than the blue shinny thing does.
I could only dream of owning that car.
Lets hope for winning the lottery.

    I get that.
I also get that if you can afford an RS5,you can live with middle to low teens mpg.Massive power an even bigger grin factor.
My point is that they could have parked anywhere they wanted, but No.It had to be right next to me.
It made me feel like the poor relative...

If I may make so bold, perhaps you ought to ditch the inferiority complex (and the green goggles) and look at it from a different viewpoint.

He may well have driven round the car park looking for a space next to a clean, well-looked after car. One whose driver was less likely to open his door into the RS5. If that clean, well-looked after car was another Audi, so much the better.

So you could look at it as a compliment if you were so inclined.

I haven't got an RS5, but I've wasted many a minute - and incurred the wrath of Mrs Phutters into the bargain - by driving round and round a car park looking for a space next to a car that obviously belonged to someone who cares about his wheels rather than next to some beaten-up people carrier with five booster seats inside and only two hubcaps.

Wish other owners had returned the favour

I wasnt right ontop of the front doors, but a short walk to them.
As my mum is 86 with a dicky ticker.I try to park close to the doors to help her.I then follow her round the stores keeping a eye on her whilst we do our shop.
The point isnt dont park near the doors in an Audi,it was why did the shinny car have to park along side me when the car park had loads of free spaces.
When i went in the company van,i would park way away at the back of the car park.Leaving the parking spaces neary to the doors for the Oaps or not so able people to use.
    Maybe thats just me....
