    Hi All.
just need some advice and feedback.I have breakdown and repair cover with the AA.On Monday my car developed a problem whilst on motorway it went into limp mode, loss of power and coil light started flashing on/off.it did the same about 6 weeks before and AA patrol attended but couldn't find anything because once you turn engine off and back on again the light disappears and car starts running ok.An MOT test I had done about 2 months back the technician said the car was running too rich what ever that means and he said if he pushed really hard on the gas it would fail the emissions test and it was also a strong smell coming from the exhaust.Anyway on Monday the AA patrol guy put his diagnostic machine on but by his own admission he said its not showing anything cos he doesn't have the proper audi software on it however,he thought it was a turbo issue. We took the car to Chris Humpleby in Bradford who is an independent Audi specialist. The next day Chris rang me and said it was turbo failure and basically I need a new turbo.Chris rang the AA claims dept.and told them of his findings who said they will send engineer today 26.2 to check the turbo.Today they rang Chris and said no engineer will be coming and instead can he strip the turbo and identify exactly why or what failed??Chris explained to them that he doesn't strip turbos at which they replied inthat case could he locate a local technician who does and have him strip the turbo..Chris rang me and told me of this so I rang the claims dept.an asked them what the hell they playin at?As per terms and conditions of the policy I have taken the car to a VAT registered independent audi specialist who I have paid to diagnose the problem why should I now pay next man to strip the turbo and tell me the same effin answer??The AA are sayin they need to know exactly what lead to the turbos breakdown.Has anyone else experienced this with the AA?seems to me they just want me to go round wasting my money.Any advice will be welcome.Thankyou

AA are the worst avoid! Been stranded on the motorway for two hours waiting for a patrol. They send some other company only to tow me to nearest (15miles away) petrol station and said to wait for AA. 5 hours later they said they are to busy and would rather pay for my can home and bring my car in the morning...

Like any other business/insurers...AA will be looking for a way not to pay out on your repair. Turbo cost will be a big hit.
