I have upgraded the radio and fitted the new q canbus and recoded it so exactly the same options are ticked?
my problem is that the climatronic temp knobs have swapped!....the passenger one is now dominant as though it's lhd.is this something I've missed? Ihe coding is identical although the new canbus has more options!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How did you do the swap? Did you just copy the code in the old module into the new? Or did you note what options were ticked in the old and then ticked those same options in the new?

Do you have Climatronic or Climatic? There is no coding in HVAC module for Climatronic. There are options in the RNS510 and the 850 that show what your HVAC module's doing. That is for later control panels that don't have the left and right windows. They may have been left on when the radio was last used by previous owner?

Post your Autoscan and let's see what modules you have and their settings

    Yep, that's Climatronic.

You have RCD310. Don't think that displays Climatronic information...

Yes, understand the problem. Only suggested radio when I thought you had latest "R" version RNS510 (which have a climate display). Thought that's why you changed CANbus module for a "Q" version. I don't think the RCD310/DAB will give you battery drain error but could be wrong for this latest version?

How did you do the swap? Did you just copy the code in the old module into the new? Or did you note what options were ticked in the old and then ticked those same options in the new?

Suggest you look at what options were ticked when the old module was in place, and instead of just copying the original "C" version code into the new "Q" module as coding; take note of what options are enabled in the old, and tick the same options in the new. I don't have "Q" coz I didn't get an OEM replacement radio -- went with JVC.

Forgot to ask: where did the "Q" module come from? Taiwan (new), or a second hand seller, or from VW Spares?

    And is "Dual" working OK?

oh yes it gives battery drain, took about 30 hours. If you mean dual as in dual zone for the air con, its that thats reversed. It works fine just the passenger side controls the whole car on dual not the drivers!
the Q came new from china via ebay it took 2 weeks to arrive and only cost £35.19 posted.

But you havn't answered my questions of previous post. This would also tell whether it is your CANbus version "Q" causing this HVAC control fault or not

Outstanding: "How did you do the swap? Did you just copy the code in the old module into the new? Or did you note what options were ticked in the old and then ticked those same options in the new?
"Suggest you look at what options were ticked when the old module was in place, and instead of just copying the original "C" version code into the new "Q" module as coding; take note of what options are enabled in the old, and tick the same options in the new."
