Seems to be a petrol engine so no glow plugs.
    It could be a misfire?...
Does the Rev counter seem also erratic?
You could go back to the seller and query it. Not noticed on test drive?

How many miles has the car done? I would suggest a compression test as these engines are very prone to burning out exhaust valves. Quite possibly why the car was sold in the first place.

Give it a good "Italian tune" drive and the next time you fill up, swap over to Shell V Power and stick with it. See how it goes after a few weeks.

I would give it a good hard drive and if you are still having a problem, get it fault code read.

    Re. Parking Sensors
I fitted rear sensors to my Passat estate with display and audio. Brand name :- Cisbo I think, They were excellent.
I fitted the same brand to my Golf MkV with an on screen overlay to my reversing camera feeding a chinese clone RNS 510, again they were excellent.
Both easy to do, sprayed to match car and they looked OEM fit.
Details. "howto" are all on this forum from several people try search, then ask for finer details.
