    just purchased a dipstick from audi for my car, part number A059 115 611 AB however this will not seat properlyso it can't be left in situ, anyone else had this issue or got a work around ?

    I just bought a workshop dipstick, the one with the chain on it. It lives in the garage, no problem as I'm only ever going to check the oil once in a while, probably when I fill the squirters.

    Just my way on doing it....

    Bought my dipstick a few weeks back and have not had any problems. There's probably congealed oil in the pipe so will need a good push to get it to seat properly.

    Wow, think of that congealed oil being circulated till it bungs up an oil passage!

    Anyone have any idea what tool is required for the 3.0 tdi sump plug? Haven't managed to get under and have a look yet...
