    Hi guys,

I drive an 02 plate 1.9tdi and have always known the temp gauge to stay at 70 but today in slow moving traffic noticed it creeping towards 90. Once we picked up speed it stopped but seemed to get higher on inclines and get lower on declines?!
    Any help would be great!
    Many thanks, Jon

It should always be at 90. A scan will tell you whether you need a coolant temperature sensor or a thermostat

If your heater is working well and quickly then its likely to be the CTS .A scan would show the CTS but it would be quicker and easier just to change it but only for a genuine part.

Yup heaters working fine. How much would a genuine CTS cost plus getting it fitted roughly?
    Cheers guys

Approx £30 for the sensor and you can fit it in two minutes....

Even my cat could fit it!
