Well I finally bit the bullet and ordered from the local dealer.

Tech pack advanced which gives quite a lot of kit including memory mirrors when ordered with the memory seats

Delivery mid April! Very happy with the deal from the dealer.

It was a stock car which they managed to get changed. I wasn't in a hurry but that's what they offered me.
Looking forward to it but the cost is still giving me cold sweats!! Never spent so much on a car.

Ah, that helps explain things! I ordered a new A6 Avant on Jan 9th and I think it's build week 12? I'm waiting on something in writing from the dealer (Galway, Ireland) as am only going on what they showed me on computer screen last time I was in...

The dealer also showed me a computer screen with various cars and there was a Daytona grey car available so I suppose they can alter the specs. After hearing how long guys were waiting I thought it would be June but I must have got lucky. The same spec from DTD was going to be July August delivery.

Probably a significant difference between the UK & Ireland as to amount of cars each dealer orders. The dealer I went to could have given me a saloon tailored with whatever options I wanted to add but no Avants in the system to commandeer unfortunately. It's interesting to see the very different base specs, options & packs available between Ireland & the UK...

Just got an email to confirm my order. Build week 16 and then 4-5 weeks for production and delivery so really end May. 12-13 weeks from order to delivery which is probably more realistic. The paperwork and times I got must have been build week not delivery!!
