    Wassup people

I was just wondering, does anyone know what the most common problems are with the Mk4 V5, particularly on an automatic transmission? Having a few problems with mine and the main dealer never seems to be able to sort out the problems.

Problems I have at the moment are:
    1. Rattling sound from underneath the car after pressing the accellerator in neutral.
    2. Rattling sound in the same place when changing gears.
    3. Squeeking rear brakes (maybe)
    4. Gears not changing smoothly. Jolts alot.
If anyone can advise me it will be much appreciated.

    1) Possibly something caught on the exhaust and gear linkage?
    2) as 1
    3) could be any number of things, does the noise stop when brakes are applied hard?
    4) as 1

Ive just rought myself a 2002 v5 and 've got a few questions myself that i'd love a little advice on. Most importantly it has as strange wobble when idling at around 750-800rpm. Is this normal? it feels almost as if the car is being shaken slightly by the engine, and dissapears as soon as the revs go above 1000 ish rpm. Just wondering if you or anyone else might have experienced this.
Also a squeaky rattling noise from the front right when driving over bumps (possibly strut top bearing) any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. I'm totally useless with cars. So as to 1 and 2, I haven't got a clue

    3. When the breaks are applied thats when it happens. I was told it could be something to do with the calipers. It happened also on my Mk3 Golf GTi.

    4???

Thanks though. I'm taking it to VW (AGAIN!!!) to see what they say.

I've got a 2002 v5 as well. And it does the same thing. Only recently though. Its starting to pee me right off . I'm taking my car in to VW in october (earliest date). If I find out anything before you do I'll let you know.

Glad Im not alone with this little problem, I'm loving the car it runs fine apart from this. Would be great to know what you come up with. I'm not going to rush it to a dealer just yet, its due for a service soon so i'll probably just wait until then seeing as its driving ok. If you or anyone else get ny news please let me know!
