    Hi everyone,
I have the VW Sharan 2013 model. It comes equipped with RCD310 radio with built-in Bluetooth and OPS (Optical Parking Sensors). I have bought the RNS315 with built-in Bluetooth and GPS antenna to replace the RCD radio. Will I need anything else ie microphone or any other cables etc? And is it a straight forward swap over? Any help or advise is much appreciated!
    thanks

If the BT was installed from factory then it should just connect using the same quadlock connector from the original stereo apart from the additional GPS antenna cable.

You might need it coded with VCDS to suit the options in your car.

Hi Chris, thanks for the reply! It's a brand new VW Sharan and the radio comes with the car and have BT built-in. How would I tell after installing RNS315 unit if it will need re-coded? Do I need to take to VW dealer? If so, do you know how much?
    Thanks

Not necessarily, you might need to tell the unit you have a MFSW, country settings etc.

If you look at the vcds map link in my forum signature you might see someone who has vcds near you and could help.

If so, tell me who and I'll try and get them to help as you can't PM until you have 10 posts

I'll check your link and see who's near me. I'll be installing RNS315 unit on Tuesday so will let you know how I get on. Thanks once again Chris!

No Kit, I installed the module which works perfectly after being turned on by vagcom, I just can't find the connector on the harness for the microphone.

Thanks for the reply, I used a genuine vw module and harness, and a vw microphone, however, apart from the two little white connectors on the harness, there seems nowhere to attach the microphone, and of course those two connectors are different to the fitting on the mic.
