Audi A6 08 UK Model (Pre Face Lift) - USB, MP3, Ipod/Aux port via MMI

Evening all, hope your all well.
I have been searching through the forums and founds some valuble information, thank you. I had some additional querys which I was hoping you may be able to help me with. Hope that is ok.

I have a 2008 Audi A6, its a pre face lift version. It has Satnav, 6 CD Changer, Bluetooth.

The bluetooth connects to my mobile handset and voice calls are ok, but I can not play music through this bluetooth connection.
The 6 cd changer doesnt seem to like playing mp3 on cd (error: cd not recognised).

I dont want a huge stack of CD's in the car for music, so was trying to find out what was the best option (at a reasonble cost) to play some music via either bluetooth, aux port, usb or mp3.

Is there a way to play music using the exisiting bluetooth connection ?
Is there a way to plug in a aux port / External Harddisk to the 6 CD changer (or another area in the car) ?

or what would I need to do?

The setup config version shows:

SW : C6-HU 51.4.0 0731
HW : C6-HU 6350D2.0

Welcome.

The factory Bluetooth on 2g will never support music streaming.

If you want aux/iPod/USB then you need Audi Music Interface with the extra cables. You can then buy a Tune2Air and stream your iPod/iPhone thru the tune2air.

the Audi Music Interface, where would this go, would it replace the exisiting cd changer ? is it difficult to install or plug/play ? and would the music be controlled via the exisiting centre control system ?
what sort of price would this cost

You can replace the changer if you wish or keep both up to you. It's situated in the slot beside the cd changer, you'll need to cut the rear of the glovebox if you want both otherwise it's a straight swap with the changer and is plug n play.

Price is about £200 on eBay for new parts although this varies so could be dearer/cheaper.
