I have a serious intermittent indicator problem with my VW Touran 1.9tdi - 2004.
When I indicate right it switches to left indication even though the stick stays in the right (up) position. If I keep my hand on it while indicating is bypasses the problem. I have no problem when I indicate left. Any ideas what is causing this problem please ?

i wonder if the contacts in the stalk are at fault, if holding the stalk sorts it i would say that would be likely. on ebay they go for £10 - £20 so i would say worth a try, just check they are the same, is it a mk4 or 5 because: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen...#ht_626wt_1140

No!!!! not at all, just undo the plastic shroud just passed the steering wheel, it will likely be held on with 4 or 5 screws from underneath. That should reveal the unit which will also be held on with 3 or 4 screws and will have a wiring loom attached which you should be able just to pull off, do reverse to fit other one.

Easy job no splicing, just plug and play

Just think its a cheap way to perhaps fix the problem, removal and refit will be easy just common sense. If it doesnt solve the problem then you have your old stalk to sell on ebay and get your money back.

    Cant get cheaper than free.
