    Hi,

my B5.5 Passat 1.9 TDI needs a new hose that goes from the expansion tank down to the lower radiator hose, in between there's a metal 'T' that connects another short hose to the engine/sensor (see photo). So it's two hoses conneced together with a 'T'.

Only the official VW parts place has this but it costs over 1300 kroner (£133/$220).............. is there anyone on te form that an help me get this in he UK and sent either to me direct or to a fried n the UK (or, due to the cost of the part in the UK is it even worth doing this?

Jus looking at the photo, it might even be the short hose connection that is leaking, maybe I should try a new clamp there first? (what do you guys think?)

I hope someone can help me with some expert advice in this or with either a price for the part or the contact details of a dealer who may have one (£133 seems a lot for this part here).

    cheers,

    -John

I'd start by replacing the cheap jubilee/spring clips and see if that made any difference.

If it still leaks, let me have a part number and I'll see what I can do.

    Hi mycars,

thanks for the idea, maybe I'l replace all the clips and see what happens........ I have tried to get a P/N but as usual the dealer will not give me one, I'll try new clips first.

    cheers,

    -John

Any idea which part it is on the above image (taken from vagcat.com).

    I'm guessing it's #1

    8D0121055AB - water hose / (expansion tank > pipe union > radiator) / F >> 3B-2-300 000*
    / diesel eng.: AVB,AVF,AWX

    or

    4B0121055J - water hose / (expansion tank > pipe union > radiator) / F 3B-2-300 001>>*

Which part you needs depends on your VIN. Always double check with a dealership first though

If you are loosing water it is usually the radiator bottom right corner as you look at it from the front of the car, are you sure this is the main leak?

caldirun....... it's hard to see right now with winter and everyting wet and/or covered with ice, except for this 'T' all else is hard to see.

I believe so, the description would suggest it goes from the rad to the header tank.
