upgrading to xenon but warranty?

Ive just bought a passat which first registed in sep 06, which means the manufacturers warranty lasts until sep 09, so thats still 2 years
Unfortunately the dealer told me its too late for me to get it upgraded from them unless i try it privately aftermarket, but it might cause legal problem and void the warranty. Is there any way to keep the warranty ,ensure it could pass the mot in 09 and get a 'xenon-like effect'? i just hate the old yellow and dark headlight which make the car looks much less modern like it should be

Is your vechicle fitted with headlamp wash wipes? you must have Auto self leveling, and high pressure washer jets are required by law.... I was tempted until I found this out.
