Thinking of an FSI

Need a second opinion. Looking at a 2.0 2005 FSI Skoda Octavia for £3k. Worth it?

I took a look today, liked the power of it, really nice. Comparable to my Nissan. But a bit put off by starting problems. Thing wouldn't start with one turn or two of the engine. Took three or four long starting attempts before it kicked into life.

Same thing happened at every restart. It was suggested, it could have been lack of fuel (being a test drive), sitting there too long, or maybe immobiliser. But oddly after a 2m test drive, came back, switched off, did exactly the same thing and couldn't restart. Again either fuel, or problem with immobiliser.

Didn't like the mayo in the filler cap, but I do understand these cars can suffer with condensation problems in the engine.

It's also had two "new driveshafts", whether that means CV joints I don't know.

Im still tempted, but in your expert opinion, anything to run a mile away from?
