looks like i have just bagged a new car, an f reg mk2 golf gti. thats all i know until i see it tomorrow, but like the budgie, its going cheap. very cheap. oooh, he says its got a hi lift cam in it.

I saw an Audi Coupe H-reg for sale last week, and nearly went for it - - looked pretty good in the pictures, with the only reported issues being a sudden thirst for water in the past week or two, no oil in water, no water in oil, but soaking wet carpet in the passenger footwell.......

Cheap motor if all it needed was a heater matrix....

Blimey Chris - that ain't a project, that is a whole change of lifestyle for a few years! Shame to see such a lovely big motor in such a state.

Think of the fun though, no nagging from the Mrs .. Just spending your evenings for the rest of your life in your garage .. forever alone!

thing is chris, where i live its all winding country lanes, its golf gti heaven, plus when i say this car is cheap, its £100 cheap. i am actually officially not allowed another car, but i was offered this and just couldn't resist. its been laid up for 2 years so i am not expecting much.

Does sound good in some ways - trouble is, I don't have a garage (nor enough skills to bring one back from that sort of state)

well i went to see it today. its an absolute shed. patches of rust, interior is rotten, looks a mess.
so i paid the bloke the 100 quid and will go back tomorrow with a trailer and drag it back.
it is however a rough looking 8v 3 door gti in some sort of white colour, with a leaky sunroof.
