1.4tsi act 140bhp smoking exhaust

Hi I now have 800mls on the clock so nearly run in ? However my car seems to pour smoke out when I start to put my foot down (only upto about 5000rpm). Has anyone else noticed this.

I think its water vapour from the catalytic convertor, not smoke. Mine occasionally does the same, even when the engine is hot and has been running for a while, and its at about 10k now.

I do hope it is just water vapour. It looks like my old vw Toran with an eBay tuning box fitted.

Hi Lee, What colour is the smoke ?....if it's "whiteish" you have nothing to worry about unless your coolant keeps dropping but get it to a Dealer if it emits blue or black smoke under hard acceleration.

I'm guessing Top Drawer is bang on the money
