    Hello.

my name is Bart and im new and my english is medium so please understand me .

On june 2013 i bought vw golf mk4 99 1.6 8v SE. Car was in rubbish condition i changed already plenty things but since last septemberr 13 ive got problems with revs
. They non stop falling from 1000 to 1300 ( approx) . I read plenty threads on your forum (following them i decided to but VCDS lite 1.2 full version - just program for dumb interfaces ).

So i checked everything , i delete errors and i connect to vcds - everything going allright but
when im trying to do 01 engine 04 basic setting block 098 - its show error ( i trying plenty time with diffrent number ) and i never saw "adp running or adp finish".

by the way after this that im trying to do this by myself - its worst and i have error : 01087 which i cannot remove - Basic setting not performed - intermitient

and car is even worst then before ( revs still falling and car really lint )

Can someone help me please - im fed up with this car - but this issue is almost impossible to resolve i think .

    Welcome to VWAF

A fluctuating idle is usually due to a faulty coolant temperature sensor.

You say you've changed lots of things but you don't list what those things are - tell us what you have changed already - it may be crucial to the issues.

As for your code, where are you seeing this code? In what module?

You may need to adapt the throttle body to the car

You should not be trying to perform a TBA if you have fault codes present in the engine controller (which you do).

    There is an urban legend that suggests one can perform a TBA without VCDS by doing the following;

Reconnect the battery but leave the bonnet/hood open.

Put the key in the ignition and turn it to ACC but do not start the car.

You should hear the throttle body trying to align itself, leave it for 3 minutes - do not touch anything, just leave it alone until you no longer hear any noises coming from the engine bay.

Turn the key to the off position and then start the car.
If it works, great, if it doesn't, you've only wasted 30 mins

When you say turn the key to ACC, do you mean turn ignition on until the ignition lights come on ?
I am going to try this one myself to see if it cures rev needle bounce.

    Thanks, Marko.

thank you very much for this urban legend - i will try it tomorrow

but actually now situation looks like that: revs fallin less then before ( 50% time of using car- used to be 95% ) - but when im accelerating ( pushing pedal) and stop pushing acceleration pedal car starts shaking - car jerks .

    very weird

    Thanks, Marko.

Turn it to ACC as indicated on the lock barrel, so yes, until all lights come on, one turn away from starting - it won't do anything though

    very weird
    Is it a lack-of-fuel-hiccup or a physical jerk/jolt?

The latter could be due to worn dogbone/engine mounts

maybe you've got a little right about engine mounts ( but before my attempts to do adaptation everything was fine ) now when im accelerating is fine, but when im leaving acc pedal its like 1-2 sec jerks and its all right ( btw : this jerks are not all the time )

the thing is ---> when revs falling - there is no jerks
when revs stop falling - there are jerks
