Last few days I have noticed, when taking car out of garage and using almost full lock, there is a squeak coming from what seems to be just below the steering wheel. Now it could be originating from further down the steering column.
Has anyone experienced this and what s the fix - oil, grease, DW40 applied where?

While I am here, I also have a squeak coming from the return leg of the nearside windscreen wiper housing (it is not from the blade.) Again, anyone experienced this and what was fix.

Finally, to help with the above, I have made a thorough inspection to ensure I have no resident mice!

    Hello
    John

I had this problem a fewyears ago used to drive me mad

My Audi dealer spent all day trying to cure it by changing different parts (the car was still under warranty at the time)

In the end he gave up
Anyway my local Audi independant cured it totally but all i know is that he sqirted white grease rond the base of the column, he didnt dismantle anything

This squeaking has never returned !

Just making the point that it can be done without dismantling anything

Bob, many thanks for the input. I will have a look at the maint manual and see where I should apply the grease.
Will update this post with results. Thanks again
