Error code 0727

Hi all, me yet again.

Right, I've had the codes read on my 54 2.0TDi A3 DSG and it's telling me that I have error code P0727. The car is alright, absolutely fine, then it feels as though someone has cut the fuel off and the car either stalls or it coughs and continues as normal. It always causes the little coil shaped orange warning light to appear. This often prevents the car re-starting once it's stopped (I cure this by clearing the code).

I've read something about a crankshaft speed sensor being to blame, but I've no idea.

Come on someone, help a brother out.
