passenger door wont open from inside or outside and driver window not working

can anyone tell me what part i might need for this. The door wont open from inside or outside so i took off the handle on the inside and now have to pull the wire to open the door from inside and also the drivers window is not working there is a noise from the motor but will not pull window up or down. I can pull the window up manually with my hand. I took off the plastic that the elec window switches are on and can put my hand down and there is a triangular (i think) piece that is loose and before when i pushed this piece into place the window would work but will not work any more any help would be greatly appreciated

With your windows going up and down, does it make a horrible scratching noise? I had faulty window regulator cables, you can buy kits, but for the Passat you have to buy the whole window regulator carrier. I bought a regulator from Ebay, but had massive difficulties in drilling the steel rivots off on the old carrier, so had to buy the complete lot in the end

As it locks and window could it be an electrical issue? Have you checked the multi-block connector between the door and body shell any signs of damage loose wires?

It sounds like somebody may have fitted a window cable and either stripped the threads in the pulley housing or the screws have come loose. I would say a morning's work if it's your first time, you may need a replacement cable, if the one on there has been mangled? cable kits available on Ebay for around £12-20 depending whether you get the pulley housing built up, which would make the job a bit easier..

With the door, has the hook broken off the wire, it should hook into the back of the doorpull?
