So my wifes car - 2.0 Diesel - 170DSG Sport. A few months ago it developed a fault, struggling to start. It turns over a few time and eventually fires but ticks over "lumpy". A few revs and all is fine. Car runs normal. Stop, start it again and it starts fine. Cold start an obvious problem. One day, it refused to start at all, resulting in a call to RAC. They got it started. So booked it in to be looked at. News came back that is was a fault speed sensor. Sensor replaced and picked the car up. Next day struggled to start, booked it in dropped it off. News came back damaged wiring loom, wiring loom replaced picked up. (These 2 repairs are around 2 months apart due to waiting for the parts and cost around £600 upto now) Picked the car up and tried starting it this morning, struggled, in fact it really struggled. Obviously booking the car in again.

I'm not faulting the garage, they are doing their best but I get the feeling they're running out of ideas.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas? Or similar issues?
