    the car is an audi a4 2.0tdie technik with stop start,2010 model,B8 PLATFORM.
    which diagnostic tool can one use apart from vag.com orvcds,
    would an Autel maxscan vag405 scan tool work on this newish car?

    Can anybody tell me what system (canbus, obd, eobd obd2 or whatever) my 2004 golf mk5, 2.0l GTTDi with BKD engine has so I can work out which code readers will be compatible please

    There is one more, Launch x431, good scan diag tool, but dont know about specific features, like enabling cruisecontol and other chirps alarms.

    Thay also have and bluetooth dongle for smartphone, iPhone Android. You can USe it on your phone.

    If you don't fancy using VCDS try VAS-PC or a nice shiny Snap On scanner. Actually the prices garages charge for a scan nowadays VCDS pays for itself in less than 3 scans.
