5W30 Magnatec or Edge Oil?

Sounding like a Blonde moment, but my oil light came on inbetween servicing, however, i ordered Castrol Magnatec 5W30 (As the 'Find your oil' search quoted 5W30 as the correct oil for the vehicle, an 07 A6 2.0Tdi 140). Anyway, having looked at the castrol Website, 'Castrol Edge' is being quoted as the oil i should have bought as its the right recommendation for VW/Audi under VW505.01 reference.
Can someone enlighten me before i open the Magnatex? Its easily exchanged - Better safe than sorry!

Never heard of Quantum oil in my life. Done a quick search online and found it, but whats the big deal? Is this what Audi uses? I notice it aint overly cheap either! Better than the big names?

Quantum 5w30 FS is basically Castrol Edge with a VAG packing label.

Magnatec is rubbish, if you go for Castol use Edge!

Eurocar parts doesnt supply Quantum, but ill change it over for the Edge one i think. Thanks for the advice & help.

I've always bought Quantum from ebay dealer's usually cheaper than anywhere else, only thing that trumped it was when a VWAF member posted link 2 an ECP ebay listing 4 Castrol EDGE @ ridiculous price of £22 4 4L's.

Yea, my Castrol Edge cost me £30 from Eurocarparts. Thats still £16 cheaper than most other places. Ill certainly look at the Quantum next time though!
