I've always used Autoglym products. I've noticed a few people on here use, Poorboys with polisher. Whole new debate, are polishers worth it? Interesting topic and one which could go on for hours

LOL i agree, i have a indigo blue golf and i find the best wax is a hand wax. i wash using a triple wax wash and then hand wax with (i know, i know) turtle/t cut wax. i hand waxed this car 3 weeks ago and i have to say, everytime i rinse her off with my shampoo wax she comes up gleaning again, i simply top up with a hand wax around every 6/8 weeks.

not sure if its a differnt kettle of fish with black? i do know though, dark colours are the worst for keeping clean it would seem!!

the white colour of the salt on the roads really stands out and makes my car look horribly dirty, not to mention salt helps promote rust, i heard a few ppl say "rust is car cancer" i happen to agree !!!

i hate the winter, the cold, the wet and slick roads, the salt, and that annoying traction control light flashing at me all the time !! LOL

I'll dip my toe in the water here, and state the obvious, only because nobody else has.

Avoid drive through car washes at all costs - they are the work of the automotive devil - and you fec&ing soaked on a motorbike

I seen many a rear windscreen wiper ripped off due to these car washes.

To asnswer the original Q. i use the flash gun to wash it (weekly or there abouts!!!) , and polish it with autoglm about every 6-8 weeks.

The flash gun is really quite good. I was scepticle at first, but then my in-laws got me one for christmas, and i was quietly surprised and impressed.
