    Default Shift Lock Solenoid Problems! – 22-12-2013,09:08 AM
    My A6 is apparently suffering problems with it's Shift Lock Solenoid which prevents the locking pin from releasing the gear shifter/lever when the brake pedal is pressed resulting in the car being stuck in park.

    I'm continually having to press the emergency release button under the ashtray to get things going again but it soon reverts back.

    My brake pedal switch is fine and the fault code mentions the solenoid.

    Is this a common problem with an easy fix?

    Common problem, do a search as I'm pretty sure it's been covered before.

    Post the fault code up too.

    At the moment I'm having to regularly press the emergency release button under the front ashtray.

    Booked in with VAG Bolton on 6th January for new solenoid.
