    Hello and thanks for reading!

I have an A6 avant 1.9 tdi (130), registered 2003 and with mileage of 168,000.

This is the first A6 I've owned so have nothing to compare against.

I've noticed that via the clutch and accelarator (but not the brake) pedals there is some mild vibration. Also, although the gearbox feels tight, there is some vibration through the gear stick. The vibration is not harsh, just noticeable and I wondered if this was normal or indicative of wear?

I also noticed, when the car is stopped and idling, if you dab the accelarator the car will rock slightly - is this connected to the above and perhaps an indciation the engine mounts are worn?

The car has full Audi service history and nothing mentioned previous on the service record.

    Appreciate any ideas - ta.

I also have an Audi A6 tdi an can feel the car vibrating especially between 50-65 mph and it still has not been resolved, I also notice a great deal of feedback through the accelerator pedal especially if you hit any kind of bump in the road, it is almost like somebody hitting the accelerator pedal.
I wish I had bought another Volvo instead, smooth as silk and very reliable, hind-sight is wonderful.

Its perfectly normal, the light tremor is caracteristic to the pd 130 due to the high compression ratio and the high pressure the fuel injectors work- over 2400 psi. To conteract the vibrations, Audi fitted active engine mounts-oil filled and with an solenoid valve controlling the damping rate. I think the Volvo you speak off had an 5 cyl TDI engine, thats has been borowed from Audi 10 years ago ! Sylky smooth, economical but a bit dated compared with PD or comon rail engines !

Sorry to hear about yours Clocksprings - at 50-65 mine is fine. Just feel at idle and low speed the 'tremor' that adamss24 mentioned.

Thanks adamss24, I feel relieved that it's normal.
