Ok whose into classic metal, i,e

    Sabbath
    Zepplin
    Rush
    Budgie
    Free
    Saxon
    Purple

If so get an ear of these guy's, this is the only debut album to make me say, oh yeah that's hit the spot in the last 25 years with exceptions of hybrids like Chickenfoot etc

    http://www.nuclearblast.de/en/label/...e-caravan.html

From Iceland, real dirty industrial bass sound lifted with grit vocal and superb guitaring all done 10/10

If you want highlights listen to tracks 2, 8 , 9 but I'd say start at the beginning and eat the whole album.

I liked most of these in my youth along with AC/DC, Motorhead, Jethro Tull etc. Actually I saw Lemmy on TV the other day he's got a good few years on me but looks great. No punk DSG? Peter and the test tube babies? Undertones? ENT? ***** Pads? Christ I feel old....

At the time of punk I was a big ELO fan tbh Doc, as the decade was closing I then moved over to NWOBHM and sold the whole ELO collection I'd built up, punk wise I could do a few of them and the UK Subs & Skids were probably the stand out bands for me along with the Pistols, Stranglers and Clash, Blondie,

I saw the first Maiden headline tour in 1980, saw Motorhead on the Bomber & Ace tour, Saxon and Priest many times until work and finances said I could no longer keep going to gig's, I missed the Scorpions something I really regret, I missed Blackfoot who were support act for one of the major bands, they were an American country metal band, I missed the Tygers of Pan Tang who at the time were probably the best they ever were and who also released a cracker of a debut album, I did see Lizzy, DIO, Sabbath with DIO, Gillan, and probably a few more I've forgotten, Hawkwind where the second hand weed smoke made me feel sick and giddy along with their 3D projection backdrop where the universe was moving about etc, we also had a local venue that catered for the undercurrent bands who could sell 200 tickets but not sell a big venue, bands like Diamond Head, Budgie, Handsome Beasts etc, as it all slowed down and thrash took over I kinda left the scene,

I've only gigged a few times in the last 25 years, I saw W.A.S.P in 89 who were so electric and loud it was a 1st class gig, I saw Big Country who have always been one of my bestie bands anyway and I once traded a ride for a gig guest list, I picked up the It Bites roadies and they said they'd add me to the guest list for a free cab, that night in a big hall they had a crowd of about 30 people and it was tragic in a way as away from the pop hits resided a really talented band with some very good material, guitarist went on to play with Robert Plant so what does that say,

I always had diverse taste although at the time you were supposed to be loyal to one genre, I also liked the Jam, Aha, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears and quite a bit of the New Romantic's artist's, anything that's done well is welcome to my ear, I'm a bit of a vocal junkie so if the singer is stand out it's likely I'll like the band, Jimmy Sommerville was one of those, incredible range, so was Steve Perry Journey, Brad Delp Boston and JLT of Rainbow,

If you can remember it Doc watch this film Rock Star (2001) - IMDb , it's so funny Livin' The Life -Stand up --Steel Dragon-- - YouTube

    Thats right, D
doesn't stage many music concerts, because of the BIC in bournemouth

Saw Santana, with Earth Wind & Fire as support, then unknown largely (not metal i know but still good)

Probably best festival was Reading, Pink Floyd I think, Robin Trower but my favourite original line up Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Van Zant Brothers, Gary Rossington

    Gimme Three Steps

    I went there many times,

    Maiden Killers tour
    Lizzy Renegade
Gillan ??? they were rubbish that night all over the place
Hawkwind where I discovered s/h pot smoke
Priest where someone got on stage and tried to push Halford off his Harley

Can't think of anymore right now but I used to go there regularly as it was up the road at the time.
